The Constanta Casino is no longer just a memory from old photographs, but a living space, ready to host cultural events and welcome visitors from all over the world, said Culture minister Natalia Intotero on Wednesday.
"Today, on the Feast of Saints Constantine and Helen, I had the honour of being present at the inauguration of the Constanta Casino, a symbol dear to all of us, returned to the community after years of waiting. A monument-symbol of the city, built between 1904 and 1910 and well-known for its Art Nouveau style, the casino has been completely restored, preserving its charm and elegance of yesteryear. (...) Today, the casino is no longer just a memory from old photographs, but a living space, ready to host cultural events and welcome visitors from all over the world," Culture minister Intotero conveyed in a Facebook post.
According to the minister, through the RON 200 million project carried out by the National Investment Company, the building has been consolidated and rehabilitated in detail, from the stained-glass windows and facades to the interior decorative elements.
The reopening of the casino, a historical monument, heritage and symbol of the city of Constanta is a the heart of Days of Constanta to be celebrated, May 21 to 25, with a special program, which combines tradition with modern entertainment, informs a press release of the City Hall of Constanta sent to AGERPRES and https://patrimoniu.ro/.
